The Tomica Apita Piago World Flags Series is an ongoing series that showcases individual country’s flag on the Toyota 2000GT diecast car.
I was never a fan of it and thus did not collect at all until they came out with the Singapore flag for their 20th car in the series (just look at the number printed on the car).
This is the only Tomica Apita Piago World Flags diecast car that I own and I am satisfied with that. I bought quite a number of pieces to keep. I mean, how often do you get a Singapore flag on an official piece of diecast car with no additional customization?
I can practically count with my fingers.
Current Tomica regular red box series and other special series are all made in Vietnam whereas the Tomica Limited Vintage series are made in China. The quality cannot be compared with the vintage made in Japan pieces.
The most common flaw (eventual) is that the wheels will suffer loss of chrome due to the humidity and friction. You can try rubbing on the chrome wheels with your fingers in a few years time and see what happens.
